If it's working good now why not change the oil. I don't think it's a hard job to remove the k46, just a little time consuming. Pull it, drain it, put new synthetic oil into it, and put it back in. You could even check with a local small engine shop to see how much they would charge. My guess is not that much and you'll have some peace of mind.
