I have a JD 790 with the 70 loader on it. I have read through all the old posts of others that have talked about converting their loader to the JDQA, but have not found a definite answer. I need to know the inside dimension of the ears on the holders that attach to the loader arms on the 419 or 420 loaders and also the center distance of the JDQA hooks that would attach to the top of the implements. JD dealer was no help other than I measured a bucket on the lot and am pretty sure the center distance is 40". My center distance is 39" on the 70 loader arms and the distance between the inside of the pin on ears is 2 5/8". If the 419 holders are 3 5/8" and the JDQA center distance is actually 40" then the holders for a 419 can be bushed and spaced to work. I hate to have to buy a holder to find out. thanks for any info.

I marked up a couple of pictures to help explain what dimensions I am after.

I just bought a set of those exact brackets. I am going to do a QA on my JD 750 with the 67 loader. I measured the width at the top pin and bottom pin.

Top - 3.61 to 3.64
Bottom - 3.63 to 3.66

The hole diameter is 1"

I can't help with the distance between brackets. The loader arms on my JD are much narrower than spec. All my stuff will have to be custom. I plan on using the JDQA plates from Artillian and welding them on to my projects.

Thanks Mike68. I was able to get a measurement off of one of the cx loader holders bottom pins and it was 3 5/8 wide. They are a different holder but looking at the pictures I assumed these would be the same width. I thank you for confirming that for me. I was thinking about getting those plates from Artillian as well for my pallet forks. Is the 67 loader much narrower than the 70 loader?

The 67 loader is narrower than the 70. It is about 36" loader arm spread. The pins are only 3/4 inch so I have my work ahead of me. I need to turn down the pins from 1" to 3/4". I also need to use a flanged bearing with the bracket.

As you do yours please document it.

I stopped at the JD dealership and did some measuring on a couple of different loaders and they checked anywhere from 40 1/16 - 40 1/8 wide on the top hook center distance. So I think the holders should work at least for the top hooks there is enough clearance on each side to make up for 1/16-1/8 variance but the pins might be a problem, it will be close. Might have to possibly elongate the the holes on on the holders or weld the holes up and re-machine the locations. That is not a problem for me to do at work since I am a machinist and the mods are not going to be any problems. Mike68, since nobody that I have been able to find has documented adapting the 70 loader for the JDQA I will try to do it and post it. It will probably take me some time to get it all complete since this is my busy time of the year just maintaining the property and everything else. Plus we have been swamped at work for some time so it will be, get to it when we can. I hope everything goes well with your conversion. Keep us posted as well.

Just curious why you guy's don't convert it to the much more popular skid steer q/a? Attachment wise, you'll find a much better selection of toys both new & used. I do realize that it is a little more complicated job, but it will add a lot of convenience and value to your machine.

The reasons for me are the weight and the JDQA keeps the attachments closer to the pins on the loader reducing the lost lift capacity due to leverage. The SSQA would add about 100# more to the loader and attachments than what the JDQA would. The 70 loader does not have much lift capacity so you need to keep these 2 down as minimal as possible. You have very valid points and I have checked into going that route and a company called ATI makes the adapter for my loader to convert it to SSQA. The prices start at I believe $850 on up for the adapters for the loaders. I should have around $300 in going with the JDQA. Both of those prices are just the loader side, the implement side is additional. If my loader had more lift capacity I would go with the SSQA regardless of the extra cost but I am pretty limited as to what attachments I will ever be able to put on it anyway. Anything I would put on it will have to be pretty lightweight. Thanks for your comments.

Sound's good! I'm not familiar with all the JD loader #'s, and every bit (of weight) does add up! Show us some pic's of your fab.
