Not sure if this is the correct thread but since I plan to restore this little tractor I thought projects would be the correct thread. If not, moderators please move to correct place.

Long story short, my grandfather bought this tractor 30-40 years ago. He passed away about 20 years ago and it went to my Uncle who is 82 and lives in another state. He kept the tractor at my dads who passed away 4 years ago.

My Uncle came to visit the past week and told me he wanted to keep the tractor in the family and gave it to me and will be passed down to my son.

I plan to start restoring it this winter and need to do a little research on parts and things. The last time it was cranked was about two years ago. I did turn the motor over when I got it home and it seems ok.

It has a turning plow, small hiller, little field cultivator, and scrape blade that is original to the tractor. I need to go back and get the blade and field cultivator. There is also a little middle buster that was bought a few years ago.

I told my wife since I have another tractor I could plant another 5-10 acres. :D

Anyone have one of these?

Sweet. Cool that it has been kept in the family. Our family had a Gibson, which was similar.

Look on line for Economy Power King forums to find parts and other owners.

We have a Gibson in the family also. It was my wife's dads. My BIL now has it.

Did your Gibson have a lever to steer with? I just about broke my arm on that as a kid when I hit an obstacle.

Yes, it has the lever. The first time I borrowed it to spread a little dirt years ago I kept getting confused with the lever to steer and the lever for the front blade:eek:

Good Afternoon David,
Looks like youve got a great little tractor there ! They were very popular around here years ago, and still many can still be seen out doing the mowing chores today !

A friend of mine has two of them, and plans on restoring also. He has a sicklemower for one and the other has hydraulics along withe a small front bucket, a very handy machine to have around the house...

Does the motor need rebuilding ?

I will be following your restore...:)

Hello Scotty,

There several restored ones around here and can usually be seen at small town tractor shows.

The best I can remember the tractor ran great a couple of years ago. I know it has some oil leaks but at this age it should:D I think the float in the carb hangs up and the battery would not stay charged. So to answer you question it could use a rebuild but I will just wait and see what it needs.

The restore should start sometime this winter...this thread may be buried for a long time before completed:D

Neat little tractor. Take pictures and update this thread as you're restoring it, I'm sure a lot of people will be interested.
