Hello, I am a new member with a loader problem. Bucket will not always dump. It will start to dump and then go back to up position. Other times I can ease into the dump and it will dump. I am not sure what the problem is , I hope I can receive some help. Loader is a John Deere # 300
Thank you,
Jim

Hi Jim and welcome.

When was the last time the Hyd. fluid was changed? It sounds like the control valve may be allowing fluid to bypass at the spindles.
Others on here may have more experience with your model of tractor.

'Easing in' with proper dump hints at not moving the joystick all the way to 'regen' position and suggests misdirection of fluid by the control spool(s) when going 'all the way' with it. That misdirection could allow normal drain-back to tank vs following the 'regen' flow path as expected. tog

Sometimes, if the 3pt is not in neutral, it will cause problems with the loader.

Thank you for that info. How would I fix that problem? Another member wanted to know when I had changed the fluid. I have owned it for about (as a new unit) for 8 years and have about 50 hours of use and have never changed the hydraulic fluid. Also I don't see any leaks

If the fluid color is normal, then it should be usable.

If it is milky looking, then it has water in it and should be replaced.

You might should install a hyd pressure gage in the hyd system and use it to monitor and troubleshoot the hyd system. Here is the reason.

If you get instant high pressure when moving the loader arms down, then something is blocking the flow , and that would be faulty QD's. Also, don't forget that a 3pt lever in the up position will cause back pressure and affect the loader.

Did you reset the QD in the loader circuit?

Did you check that the 3pt lever is in neutral.

Thank you for these suggestions, I will check these out. I am not sure how to reset the QD in the loader circuit.

Hello,
I want to thank everyone for their suggestions.
As I continued to search for the problem, I finally noticed that there was a leak where the hoses connect to a female end under the deck.
I disconnected the hose checked it and reconnected it.
I used it for several hours and found no more leaks and bucket worked as it should.
Thanks to all
Jim
