My 2002 Jinma 204 lift arms do not stay up when not engaged so it looks like I need to re-build my hydraulic lift cylinder and it looks like I need to take off the shifter gearbox cover to get the cylinder out. Removing the cover does it just unbolt and lift up or do you have to disconnect any shift linkage first?
Thanks,
John

EDIT: it looks like I should go in from the back as I found an old post so any thought would be great.
Thanks Again,
John

I think it depends on the liftbox model. On mine you come in from the front (the front of the tractor). The cover has to come off of the transmission to get access. My recollection is the bolts that hold the cylinder cover on have some serious torque. Beyond that it's not hard. The piston has a threaded hole that you have to use to pull it out, I think it's 10mm. The piston isn't attached to anything so you just pull it out, replace the seals, and push it back in.

You should be able to tell by the bolts how the lift box comes apart. I think the ones that come apart from the back are more involved to get the piston out.
