Hey everyone. I have a moderate fluid leak from the PTO shaft at the rear of my 204. I have ordered a new seal, bearing and cover plate gasket. Has anyone done this repair and have any good advise for me before I start in on this? What and how much fluid will I lose? Is the bearing pressed on to the PTO shaft? Will the PTO shaft just pull out once the cover plate is removed? Is it even necessary to replace the bearing if the shaft doesn't have any play when installed and the bearing is smooth? Just trying to get my ducks in a row. Thanks!!!:D

I did this repair.

My one piece of advice is to be sure you drain enough fluid out. I thought I had. I took the cover off, and fluid started going everywhere. I quickly threw in the new seal and put the cover back on. Made a mess of my garage.

It's an easy repair. Just remove the cover and put the new seal in. I think it was Tommy at Affordable who told me that sometimes the factory puts two seals on that shaft.

Just did the repair. Pretty easy, no need to remove the bearing but lost pretty much all the transmission fluid.
