Jinma 224 - adding power steering

has anyone done this?
I'm really tired of fighting the steering wheel especially in 4wd.

Have been thinking of using a Ford Ranger steering box and PS pump to keep things simple - and cheap....
The box looks to be almost the same size as the OEM Jinma box and the arm is almost the same length. It would let me keep all the same drag link stuff.

Any thoughts or input is appreciated!!

Do you realize that the engine driven hydraulic pump also powers the rear lift? To add power steering means you'd also have to come up with a priority valve so that you could steer and lift at the same time.

This question - and the one about fitting a bigger hydraulic pump - make wonder if you didn't buy the wrong tool for the job.

We have a older 284 tractor that the engine blew up in ,that had side mount steering cylinder and all the parts to put power steering on yours. The question is how much do you want to spend to do this ? Here is what you will need

Steering column
Steering machine
Side mount steering cylinder
Rear mount for steering cylinder
Priority valve
Hoses (5)
Hardline (1)

I have a used Koyker loader and all the brackets also ? Got a trailer ?

the tractor does everything i want it to... check my list of attachments....
the reason I am looking at retrofitting a Ford Ranger automotive box and pump is that i DONT have to use a priority valve, steering cylinder etc..

bigger hydraulic pump... its just a question... if retrofitting a bigger pump will do a better job of running my implements, why not???

i'm also contemplating adding a small turbo... really easy to do with diesel - boy i bet that raises some concerns about my choice of tractor LOL.

I've had it for 8 years now and worked it hard every year...now its time to do things so i dont have to work as hard....

Tommy I do have a trailer...
I dont believe i'm interstd in the 284 steering setup because it would really complicate things.
Drop me an e-mail on the used Koyker setup! I'm tired of shoveling sheep manure into the trailer by hand...
