Jinma 224 fuel gage question

OK. Its full but only reads 3/4. So empty is not empty. Now the wierd part. It goes to full as I use the hand throttle to throttle up. Single cluster setup. Not really important, but I still would like to know if anything simple. How can throttle up make the gage go from 3/4 to full?
(not instantly either, it goes in synch with throttle.

Throttle down, fuel gage goes down. ????????

I would check the grounds going to both the tank sending unit and the gauge itself. My guess is its bad. Try just jumping it strait to the negative post on the battery and see what happens.

Turn on your lights and see if they do the same thing; dim at idle, brighter with throttle

My did the same thing, fuel gage never worked right, never really cared I quess. The electronic gages on these have been know to have issues

What are you thinking Greg? Maybe alternator or voltage regulator?

Gotta start the elimination process somewhere. The gauge is electric, start with where the electricity comes from. If the answer is no, then the problem is not systemic. That narrows the troubleshooting tree.
