Queries on a Jinma 245
Greetings
I am new here and hope to get a couple of queries answered by the Forums knowlegeable folk.
My tractor is 6 years old, had a pretty easy life, but lacked maintenance.
The transmission fluid is creamy yellow so I suspect water contamination.
No biggie doing a flush, but our first question relates to the nut on top of the transmission which images seem to indicate a copper tube going vertical and curving back down, but the images I have seen are not definitive.
Ours only has the nut with a hole in the top probably allowing the water to do the contamination.
Is this a breather or does the tube go somewhere important?
Under the seat is the hydraulic reservoir. Ours has a observation or filling nut but no dipstick. Should there be a dipstick here to check fluid levels?
If so, can someone please measure their dipstick to let me know how far down from the filler cap the level should be?
The lever to switch to 4WD won't move. I don't want to force it, and it may be the fluid contamination stopping it. Any ideas?
I am pretty sure I will have further queries, but that should do for now as I don't want to push my luck with the helpful people on this Forum.
Cheers
Ian
