My 284 does not have any rear quick connects. It does have a pair on the side of the engine leading to the pump. It also has the priority diverter valve. My new log splitter has two quick connects on it, is it as simple as attaching the log splitter into the tractors circuit or will there be trouble? On another note will the tractors pump handle the splitter?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

We offer a constant flow hydraulic remote kit to operate wood spliter, backhoes etc..

These kit work with tractors with or with out a loader.

Click on link , http://ranchhandsupply.com/replacementparts/hydraulicremotekits.html

Part number 200CF near bottom of page.

There are several ways you can do it. The main thing is it to be user freindly without restrictions.

Ive seen that kit but my wife wont let me invest in "my toy" as she calls it anymore. She doesnt seem to notice how much that little workhorse saves us in day to day life. Oh well, her father has a complete garage full of hydraulic fittings and such, but isnt sure about the "chinese tractor" set up. He laughed when i first got it, but after two winters of plowing him and his old ford tractor out he is now upset because i payed a third of what he did and mine is never down. Is there a drawing or schematic we could follow because i know we have the parts, its just the constant flow - blow the pump - thing that worries me.
Thanks.

#1. lol, I understand...... she has not split enough wood yet .

#2. Just remember the hyd fluid always has to be moving!!!

#3. And it should, but it wont as long as the fluid is moving. I already know and understand your situation but, click here http://ranchhandsupply.com/replacementparts/hydpressurereliefvalve.html.

Is the valve on your log splitter one with the 'open circuit'?

Yes the log splitters valve is the "open " type, which will keep the fluid moving, so there should be no problem right. Ive read on here that you can tee off of the 3pth line, does that sound okay. It would be nice to have the connects at the rear, not going into the engine to hook up hydraulics every time.

If the valve in the splitter is designed to kick off at around 2200psi (or less), and is open center, you could run it off the quick connects on the side of the engine. Be careful here as the Jinma quick connects are not always compatible with pioneer type. some have ball check valves and some have cones, sometimes the cone won't open the ball type check valve when the two connections are made. When this happens the pump seal and/or pump will be damaged. I suggest you get two matching pair of fittings and change the ones on the tractor out to avoid this. If the valve on the splitter does not kick off, when the cylinder reaches the end of the travel, the pressure in the system will spike and.... you guessed it, new pump.
