Jinma 454// other equipment husqvarna rancher 61 chain saw & model 460 both with 24 " bar, 2 husq trimmer, greemworks 40volt trimmer and pole saw. 20 ton wood splitter, various welders metal saws and drill press
Have a 2005 454 Jinma runs great but some sometimes have to bump key several times to start sometimes nothing but will always start if I jump it at starter. Previous owner eliminated clutch safety switch so that's not it. Thinking it's a problem with switch.

Completely cleaned all cable connections and made sure battery was fully charged still had problem that's why I think it's switch, anyone else have similar problem

Could be the switch. It could also be the 30A fuse that feeds the switch, I find sometimes I have to pull it out and push it back in again to get it to start.

Could be the switch, high resistance connection(s), or bad solenoid on starting systems I am familiar with.
On my ZD mowers I wired a relay at the solenoid to ensure adequate voltage to the solenoid when I was having similar intermittent starting problems, which fixed my issue. It’s a pretty common wiring upgrade. Google “starter relay wiring” if you decide to try it.
Best of luck!

I had a Jinma 204 I think it was. Ignition switch went south as i was constantly hitting it with my leg. I replaced it with one I had off an International tuck and put in a separate push button and indicator for the glow plugs,...............Mike

Ok battery fully charged clutch safety switch not an issue everything hooked back up and it started, shut off tried again, nothing shorted at starter and it starts right up every time. if I kind of "wiggle" the key in the switch as i'm turning it then it will sometimes start. so first my original Chinese battery from 2005 is finally with a little over 300 hrs getting tired, second the switch is not always making good contact inside to start. So will eventually replace switch for now will use remote starter button when switch doesn't work.

used tractor for loading trash into truck on saturday started fine three or four times then nothing shorted across leads at starter fired right up. always starts easy first turn and will always start even when I have to do it at starter. made this post when tractor had sat for little over a month when we were getting rain. and starter would not even spin which turned out to be battery is finally getting tired so first order of business is new heavy duty battery then will replace starter switch. Has been a good tractor only other problem was caused by some loose bolts which cause the mount for the right lift arm to break out of housing. had to drill out and put thread inserts in, put lock tight on everything and check all bolts more often. angus repair.jpg

The cardboard was to hold a little devcon in place untill it hardened, also had to use a metric bolt in one of the holes as I couldn't find the right length metric stud even from dealer.

I have just repaired a Siromer (Jinma) 204S with electrical problem ... after 3 days of tracing and checking all the wires and connection i found the problem under the console. there is a power going from the 30 amp fuse to the amp meter and then from the amp meter to the switch. these 2 wires have a connection... this is where my problem was sometime it would start sometime not... Check this connection and see if it is ok ... Good luck...
