Can anyone tell me the difference between the two? They look the same, have basically the same specs., are they different or the same? Thank you!

I think you're right LG. On http://www.chinaimporters.com/tractors/benye/ they even say "the Benye 224 is similar to the Jinma 224". But I noticed in the spec sheet that the 284s don't share the same tranny. Pretty sure the JM284 standard tranny is a 3 speed (6x2), as opposed to the four (8x2) listed for the BY284. There may be other differences, but the number of gears stood right out.
