Jinma will not start (blown fuse)

I am a little confused with your symptoms. When exactly does the fuse blow, when you turn the keyswitch to the "ON", "HEAT" or "START" position? You said you can start it with a screwdriver across the solenoid, but you have no gauges. You mean if you put a new fuse in, start it with the screwdriver and only turn the switch to the "ON" position, it still blows the fuse? The switch position where it blows will narrow down the possible fault locations.

Attached is an incomplete schematic for a 2005 284. I started working on an updated/easier to read schematic last year. It is missing some gauge, sensor and idiot light wiring info. The starting and charging circuit information is complete. The numbers associated with the wires are the number tags I found attached to my wiring. Perhaps I will have some down/mainenance time this winter and be able to finish it.

You may have to zoom in a bit on the attached image to see all the lines.

Good luck

My system fuse also blew everytime I turned the switch on. The problem was a screw terminal on the front (dash end) of the light switch had backed out far enough to make contact with the dash and was shorting out. I had three wires on the out side of the main fuse and I disconnected all three and reconnected them one at a time until I narrowed down the offending circut. Thankfully when the light circuit was reattached (and the fuse blew) I saw the spark at the light switch and found the problem. I removed the offending terminal screw as there were no wires attached to it and have had no problems since.

problem solved ! There was a short in the wire that goes to the clutch safety switch . I thank each and every one that had an idea of the problem. Robby

The wire was along side the linkage about two inches from the switch. Thanks for the tip I would not of started looking there. Robby
