John deer LT 155 belt

I changed out the original mower deck belt that came with my LT 155 that I bought new in 2001, it was getting pretty sloppy. It was a piece of cake, didn't even have to take the mower deck off, fired her up and she cuts like a new one.

Thats the only thing I have had to do other then oil changes, oil filter, air filter and blades, no repairs for 11 years, anyway just passing this on.

I was given an identical machine crushed by a tree, which anfter removing the crushed parts, turned the key and she fired right up!!I bought one with a blown engine on ebay so im going to swap engines and part out tue rest. great little machines thought!!

I liked the Kohler 15HP engine, but i went through belts like crazy, plus a couple of deck timing belts. could never get the belts to not rub in a couple of spots. maybe our less than perfect areas, but they weren't that ugly i didn't think.

I guess I could mention I bought the John deere belt.

I mostly used Dayco belts. it was the rub that killed mine. we had some tight side-hill and off-camber areas, which caused the deck to pitch just enough to rub the belt. There were a couple of deck adjustment bolts and the deck pulley brake stuff that always seemed to be in belt path. I remember I zip cut one bolt flush with the nut to try and fix one of my belt rub areas. Previous owner gave me his service records and I saw he went through several JD belts aswell.

Looks like in your case it didn't matter what belt.
