Had a problem with my X530 near the end of of the 2012 season. I had been noticing this strange noise from my mower whenever I engage the blades, it was almost like my hearing was amplified and I could hear each individual blade rotate it was very noisy. I've had this mower since March of 2011 with 0 hours on the meter, I took it to my Deere dealership for inspection, and was told the sound was normal. I'm not a mechanic but I know how the mower was sounding when I first purchased it now it was different I had approx 105 hrs on it my salesmans said I had finally broken it in and the sound was normal for a used 18 month old machine. My thought were I needed a new deck. The tractor ran perfect until I engaged the blades. Soon after that it quit cutting (no rotation in the blades) I loaded it back on the trailer and took it to my Deere Dealer mechanic said it was the J Rod it was bent terribly he said I ran over something but I couldn't recall, even if I did I wasn't gonna' admit it. I really don't remember running over anything but he told me it the rod would need to be replaced I asked how much? He looked at the hr meter and said the Warranty Will Take Care Of It. I for one will say when John Deere made the statement we have the BEST WARRANTY IN THE BUSSINESS I beleive it. My salesman is still amazed that I could hear that something was wrong with the mower months before it finally went out.
