Need help guys....had the carb rebuilt and put it all back together. Now, the tractor starts good and runs for a few minutes great then dies. New plugs and wires as of today....plenty of gas in the tank and a new sediment bowl. I am at a loss!! Could this be a valve issue?? Any help would be great please!!!

No. it is impossible for the valves to be the problem. if it were, you would have difficulity starting and running a few minutes before it dies. I would suggest rechecking the components in the ignition primary circuit, and if they are good, go back to the carburetor. I believe the 1010 is starving for fuel.

I was wondering if there might be a clog in the fuel line somewhere. The sediment bowl fills up quickly when I put it back on so I cant imagine the clog is in the tank. when it does act up, if I throttle is down right away it will stay running for a little. Its confusing....seems like its not handling the fuel properly. almost like its floading out. Could it be the coil maybe if its not the fuel?

One thing I was wondering, could it be a dirty breather in the oil bath? I did not check that other then just making sure its filled with oil....possible?

We had exactly the same problem with our 2010. Take the time to check your fuel supply side system. System s pretty fancy for tank, lines, valve, and bowl, but there it is. We had a kink in the line where it turns and goes forward, just enough to tarve it when the bowl and carb ran low. Do you have a leak at all anyplace? Check your float if you think its flooding, though you also say you think it's starved. Good luck.

Do you have a valve on the carb that has to be opened? It's a needle type valve that you are supposed to close when done using so if the float hangs up the engine wont fill with fuel. Newer gas JDs have an electric solinoid valve that replaces it. At least my gas 2030 did.

Hello guys,
Well, the verdict is in for the ole 1010. I took it to a shop cuz i was at a loss. the shop checked everything over and discovered the gas tank had a hold in the top of it and the bottom of the tank was full of dirt. Fixed the hole, cleaned out the carb and installed a fuel filter between the sediment bowl and the carb and I am told it runs great. We will find out if it ever stops raining here in PA. All the delivery/pick up fees plus muffler, new coil, plugs, wires, filter, carb cleaned and a new rim on the right rear....$1300. This farmin business is soon turnin into my "nonprofit" business! Thanks for your help guys!!
