Two Gravely Two L One with 10 h.p Dek-Diesel engine one Grillo 107d and one BCS 735 diesel
Hi! I buy a very used John Deere 112 . I fit a Dek-Diesel 10 h.p engine. Just minor grinding Jobs some welding. Crankshaft is about one in. more high and half in. more front .Hood is 3 in. more high. I like Diesel engine. Less maintenance No Carb. Float needle choke No ignition Sparkplug Point condenser or ignition module etc.. You have High torque and INCREDIBLE FUEL ECONOMY Less one liter hour. VIBRATION and NOISE are HIGH. This engines pay itself in 300-400hrs. Thanks and Good luck! Oldmech

Interesting - how much did the engine cost? Where did you get it?

Hi! For Clutch PTO lever arm ( 1.5 in more long.) Some light work . I weld a piece of steel 1\4x 1 in.X 2 in. at tractor frame. I drill in a 3\8 hole (one inche more high and half inche more front) for support level arm. Belts are two in. more long. all work very well. I buy this engine from local classiffied ads. I pay 580 CDN. You can find 10 h.p. diesel engine on ebay for $500 or less. Good Luck! oldmech

It brought a tear to my eye to see the hood cut out to fit the new motor, but I do understand the reason. And your conversion is a very nice one. Did you just do this? How many hours of use have you got with the diesel? And how well is it working for you?

Hi! You are right! I have an other project. I look for Hydro Tractor(with damaged engine) as John Deere 316-317-318 or Cub cadet 1250. Hydro tractor are more easy to resale. the John Deere 112 is a very solid and reliable small (Gears) tractor. I take this one at very low price. For me I prefer my two-wheels GRAVELY Diesel.I like walk behind. Thanks! Oldmech

I'd really like to see a new diesel go in a Cub 1250, 1450 or 1650. The difficulty would seem to be in connecting the engine to the drivetrain and keeping the electric PTO. These tractors are so tough that they would seem well suited to a diesel.
