Edited (I have an assist from a Gentleman by the name of @joecdeere and I see he gets asked alot for help with this particular manual) So if I can be of assistance to anyone so as to lighten the load on him being asked so much; I will happily oblige. If anyone needs it please let me know as I suspect I will start being a mainstay on this site. Thanks to its creator as I am so happy to have found it!
My name is Chris and I am a Vet, owned a business that sank, have several people ready to buy this contingent on it running (i attemoted to list in prior to getting it running and most people like myself have no idea how to fix them) and I have no idea how in the crap to hook up this John Deere K Series 14 HP motor to this Murray body. I took the electric clutch off of it and repaced it with a normal spindle. I had it all hooked up and I could turn it over pretty viciously by touching the points (found I blew a fuse) but I have the wiring diagram from online in several different places but there is no legend and I'm not understanding how all this works. I understand the functioning of each of the components. I understand all of that on I guess what would be your typical Briggs engine but this is way different it has a chip for the ignition the wiring harness has 67 safety switches there are 40 different colors of wire and I am literalluy in a panic because I have bill collectors ready to come collect on parts for this thing because I decided that because I could only start it via screw driver on the points and not via the key that this was unacceptable and took it all apart after custom fabricating a housing that would accomodate the old style hood and the various components that are seemingly much different that what the murray had. The spindle fits (instead of the electric clutch dealie) and the blade engage I have is a manual one and frankly if at all possible I would enjoy very much just keeping the manual version My plug has fire (it didnt before) i replaced the regulator the little doo dad mounted on the side that the magneto ties into the flywheel is sanded down pretty carb is cleaned, fuel pump seems to work, one of the lights works. The harness is intact there is no backwater splicing and I am at a loss this thing is giving me a complex and my family is depending on me to figure this out. Man I need help... I'm not stupid i'm just stuck on stupid right now and I cant seem to unglue myself. Respectfully.
