I recently had to make some repairs to my knotter and really have got somthing screwed up. When the baler trips everything seems to rotate just fine but the needles don't move. After my repair I emptied everything out and rotated by hand to make sure everything was working ok and nothing was hitting, I think this is where I created the problem. I did not otherwise touch the needles. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be of great help, I have not worked on these in 20+ years

Well, the needles are raised by the same shaft as the knotter drive, A lift link connects the arm on the knotter drive to the needle crank. There's a shear pin in this 2 part link. If the knotter drive is working, then the linkage sure isn;t. Post a side view and top view picture if you are able.

I see two holes it looks like the top one where I have the punch is for a tension pin and the lower hole would go through the shaft with a shear pin. When I put a pin in there I could not get the needles to move, it seems to bind up, in the upper hole I could get the needles to move and tied a knot on one side... the bad news is I broke the knotter on the other, I tried to repair it before and I guess that won't work. I spent the whole day today removing the knotters, turns out there was a pin in addition to the keyway on the drive clutch, I did not see that in the parts breakdown.
Wish me luck
