I've been trying to decide for the past three months what mower to buy, and I've concluded that my ideal solution would be the JD 1600 WAM, which has about 11' of cutting width. I've had the opportunity to run a relatively whipped turbo model and was pretty impressed, but not a non-turbo model. Is there anyone out there that has experience with either model that they could share? I'm mowing 20 acres of pretty fine lawn with varying levels of slope, and not a lot of obstructions. I have a 12' reel type gang mower that needs work, and a 5' finishing mower. I've tried the JD 1420 and really like it, but desire the 11' width instead of the 6' to keep the mowing time lower.
Appreciate any inputs!
