John Deere 2010 - Generator Issue

I have a John Deere 2010 that just recently started to have the generator light stay on constantly. As soon as you apply RMP's it wants to stall out. It recently had a tune-up done and everything else seems clean. My head goes to the generator going bad, but have no idea how to test or check that. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Newish tractor owner and still working through troubleshooting.

My 2020 used to have a generator. Someone (not me) removed it and stuck on a Delco alternator with internal regulator - same as all older GM vehicles used to use. My understanding is that this is a very simple conversion. Several YouTube videos out there on how to do this:

I believe this is the route most people take these days...no one uses a generator anymore.

Your other alternative is to take the generator off, take it to an auto electric repair shop (they repair/rebuild starters/alternator/generators) and have them rebuild it.

Thanks for the feedback. I've read several threads about converting to an alternator, was really curious if there was a way to test the generator to see if it really is bad before going through all of the other steps.
