My 2030 had a lot of slop in the steering and with the help on this site I narrowed it down to the bell crank. It seems like this is an issue for quite a few 30 and 40 series tractors. Most guys would just live with it but I decided what the heck and try to fix it myself. It really wasnt that bad, I would give it a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 easy. 10 hard)

I used the loader to lift the front end up and blocked it up.

This nut was a bear cat to get off. I ended up using an air chisel to get it off.

I am lucky enough to have a large air floor jack so I used that to lower the front end. This thing is heavy!!!!!!!!!! BTW I do have the heavy front end on my 2030, make sure you look up the correct front end on jdparts for the correct part numbers

Pop the C clip off and pull off the bell crank.

Here is where you'll need to knock out the needle bearings and cage. If you have a lighter front end it might just be a bushing.

I knocked all the needle bearing out and used a torch to heat up the needle bearing cages that was left. FYI use some heat it will save you a lot of time.

I figured I would replace the rear bushing that the front axle pivots on since I had it off. Again I just heated and drove it out.

I cleaned up the holes with emery cloth and deburred it. I just happened to have the correct drivers to drive the needle bearing and bushing back in.

I had $47 in parts. 2- needle bearing (JD9911) $12.31 each and 1- bushing (T23170) $18.82 each.

Sorry my pictures weren't bigger. I couldn't figure out how to make them larger.

I hope this helps someone out, its not too bad of a job.

I did treat myself to some new Firestone 4 rib 9.5 X 15.
