Do you think you will need a end loader some day? Most people find they do. If so get something with a loader.

John Deere products have the highest resale value, and is easiest to get parts for!..

...and you always pay out the nose for them too. JD is EXTREMELY proud of their parts. Don't know about resale value, Kubota is right up there too, especially pre 4 tractors.

This is a complicated question. The 2040 looks like a good deal and it's a very capable tractor. However, if the tach has been replaced and the hours are just what the seller says, you're just trusting a stranger.

My concern is whether you are looking at your future needs. You don't need nearly that much tractor to bushhog 10 acres. You're only going to cut it a few times a year. Most people in your situation will find a loader (and probably forks) their most valuable implement. Without knowing the details of your property, I would prefer a 4WD tractor with loader in the 30 HP range.
