I have read each and every response! Some seemed not needed. I saw the belt guide in one pic but mine does not have one so I assumed the pic I was shown was a different model. Should have figured it was broken off but nothing appears to be broken no sign of it. Your sarchasm is getting tiresome also. I was not familiar with this site thus the multiple posts which I apologized for. I think your an arrogant jerk with little respect for the less learned. Trust me if you had any idea what my back ground is in other fields possibly you would have a tad more respect. I will choose other sights for any more assistance. Try being proud of what you know and have some patience with those of us who like to do it ourselves with the help of experienced people as yourself with a little less arrogance and condescention. Sorry that was not a " one syllable word"

You post questions and get given answers for free from others as well as me. Some ask more questions to try and refine the diagnosis. You never answer the questions. Multiple questions asked of you. None answered...

Your posts contain spurious info. (X300 was 'yours' then it became your 'neighbours'.)

Nothing is 'broken off' your tensioner. The picture shows a bolted-on component. It was posted for your information and you choose to "assume" it "was a different model".
Why would I post a pic of a different model??

Assume your way to success. I don't care about your' background in other fields'. I care that your mower is repaired to working order and you don't seem to want to be helped. Good luck in all your fields.

If we'd have only known that bit of feedback, then a quicker solution would have been forthcoming.
We'd have known 1) that chazdo2 actually saw the reply showing the belt guide in the pic, and 2) that he was missing this important feature that keeps the belt from being thrown off.

Spanner comes across rough on some, but he is very responsive to chasing down a solution for the problems presented. He shares his expertise for the benefit of members who are lost.

Plus, everyone can learn something from the trading back and forth of information. The fact that the subject heading is definitive means that it will search well in the future when someone has a similar problem.. "throwing deck drive belt".

Hopefully chazdo2 will hang in here and hopefully we'll learn that he gets his 212 problem fixed.

That you fail/refuse to answer reasonable questions means it is frustrating trying to help you. Good luck.[/QUOTE]

Chaz.

In your first post on this subject, I tried to help you based upon the supplied info.

I posted marked up diagrams etc.

In return, you never did answer my questions.

In your profile you list the following: walk behind power drive 21

You are now asking about a 212. Previously it was an X300.

I am completely confused and have to move on.

Since you are now clearly dealing with an old garden tractor, the people on the forum linked below are real experts in restoring old lawn and garden machinery and may be prepared to walk you through your problem(s).
