New to the forum with a pretty basic question but can't find anything on-line to help me with it....
Have a John Deere 260 Disk Mower with a foot/stand pin that won't lock in because the locking mechanism (foot/stand locking pin - see attached photo) is stuck and won't pop out (I'm assuming it pops out and you push it in to engage it but not sure about this...have had this setup for only a few months...came with the property I just bought). I've tried everything...yes, penetrating oil, knocking on it, moving the foot/stand around, you name it. Think the pin spring is gunked up from the dirt and debris generated by mowing. Seems to be a terrible design in that you can't take apart the joint to access the spring and clean it out or replace it (eventually all spring based mechanicals need to be replaced - don't see how to do this here). Anyone know how to get the pin to pop out? Right now I just have a piece of wood holding the disk mower up. Thanks for any advice.
