John Deere 2950 hyd issue

I did look in the filler hole for the rear end, and it was misting on the inside. Also there is a small steady stream of oil running straight in from the filler hole towards the top.

Sounds as if RS control valve needs new seals installed which means 3 pt housing requires removal. I suggest to R&R 3 pt piston seals at this time. Is loader valve the convertible type that can be changed from CC to OC or vice verse? If so I suggest to remove loader control valve return line,with loader control valve in neutral start engine and if oil exits return hose then valve needs attention.

I am going to study what you said with this. The one I am working on has no hi low or reverser. I didnt pay attn to the pto operation yet. That pic of drawing on the 1st page is about like the one on 2640. I understand this is old. I was picking thru it.
I am going to test the valve on my 4020, should no flow on the return in neutral.
