2007 john deere 790
i'll try and keep it simple. 2007 jd 790 with a 300 series loader. Raises and lowers as it should. Then it gets interesting. Move the handle to the left, it dumps, move the lever to the right, it curls up, move it further to the right, it dumps. yeah - does two things by moving the handle to the right. HELP - this thing is driving me crazy. TB

I have not thought this through so you can decide if my logic makes sense.

First, I think your loader quick couplers are swapped for the curl and dump bucket actions.

It has been some time since I was on my tractor and using the loader is just muscle memory and no thinking. My recall is that dumping involves moving the joystick to the right which is opposite of what your tractor is presently doing.

If you swapped the bucket quick connectors now the bucket dump would have two actions.

Loaders are often equipped with a Regen feature within the valve body to speed up dumping and end the situation where the loaded bucket dumps faster than the pump can fill the non dump end of the bucket cylinder and you end up with a floppy bucket.

From the internet:

Regen is a "feature" of most modern FEL (Front End Loader) valves, it's on the Dump (joystick far right) circuit, and is also referred to as "Fast Dump". So we add "regen" or "regenerative" function to the valve.

Hope this is helpful and not misleading.

Looks like you swapped the hoses for the curl/dump circuit at the quick disconnects. You can simply disconnect them and swap them out.

Joystick to left should curl and not dump. The reason why it curls and then dumps if you push further to the right, is because the joystick valve may have a regen or fast dump feature built it.

EDIT: Well, Dave beat me to it. :drink:

I third bucket hoses are reversed. I am only online in the mornings, so you both beat me!
