John Deere 4005/300cx loader adding dozer

Hello,
I want to put a dozer/snow blade on my 300cx loader. I have found a like new Grouser 6 way dozer blade 72" but it weighs 1200#. I cannot see just buying a snow blade that sits around 10 mos out of a year when I could really use this all year. Am I out of my mind even thinking this would worl ok on this loader? I can buy this cheaper than any light duty snow pusher. Thanks

I'm assuming that it has skid steer universal mounts on it and will be mounted on your 300cx loader. If the weight of the blade exceeds the lifting capabilities of your loader? How will you use it? You will need to lift it at least 12 to 18 inches to make it usable in the dirt and 12 inches in snow.
I have a 66 inch Deere blade that might work for you better. It can easily be converted to a loader mounted blade or adapted to the new style front 3pt hitch to give you a better-stronger blade to push dirt.

I wouldnt really reccomend you put a blade on your loader to move dirt. There will be alot of stress on your loader frame that I would be worried about. Pushing snow is one thing dirt is another. I would go with a frame mounted one for pushing dirt.

JDKid, excellent point about the loader mounted blades. I myself don't even like the loader mounted blades for pushing snow,although they are a good cheap alternative for some people.
