I have been searching for a tool box for my John Deere 4066R for some time. Had a number of inspirations but was having a hard time pinning down a design. I don't help as much as I should on forums so I thought I would post it here to maybe give the next guy some ideas.

Great idea for mounting and a very nice implementation.

Very nice job!!
I've been trying to figure out how best to add a toolbox to my 4052R...and you have inspired me!

This is what I did on my 4320 for a toolbox. It works great and out of the way. I simply made a bracket that bolts to the ROPS. 20201116_094525.jpeg

Bit curious about this...

My 4052 with the H180 loader has a strut mounted at the boss kkirt1 mounted his tool box. This strut is shown in the H180 manual as well. My loader isn't the self-leveling type...guess I need to ask the dealer about this...

Looks "self-leveling" to me.. ??

Parts just shows one required, so is it not on the left side?

Don't know...I have to investigate further. The H180 loader does show that component (a sector, IIRC) on the self leveling loaders, but not on the non-self leveling versions.
I've never used the loader enough to figure out the sef leveling aspect...guess I'd better read the operator's manual more thoroughly.
Either way, doesn't look like I'll be able to mount a tool box on the loader mast...so, back to the drawing board...

This is a John Deere tool box and mounting bracket. Why I mounted it on the brush guard I am not sure. It may have been shown in some literature like that but I am not sure or can't remember. The tool box clears the center support on the loader with no problem. I only had it on there for a short period of time. It has a long dove tail mount on the back side of the tool box with a single tab and a lock pin on the inside of the box. It goes on and off very easily. It also has a removable tray that's not shown. It's nice but I don't use it any more. It sets on a shelf with some spare tools in it but I left the mounting bracket on just in case. If I need to work on my tractor and or implement I generally head back to my garage.

If I understand, you designed and built the mount - very nicely done - what did you use for the tool box itself, or did you also build it? In other words, if you purchased a tool box, where did you buy it?
