john deere 410C backhoe

I just purchased a 1986 john deere 410c turbo and noticed that the hydraulics chatter a bit, sounds like there is air in the system. anybody know how to bleed the hydraulics on this machine? I don't think the pump is bad as all the hydraulics are very strong. any help would be appreciated.

Hyd's will self bleed by cycling the hyd functions. Do you know how long it's been since hyd filters were changed and sump screen cleaned? I would also advise to check hyd stand-by pressure which should be 2750 psi.

I believe the fluid was changed just before I bought the machine. What is the best way to access the sump screen?

Anyone know if all hyd fluid has to be drained to replace the hyd filter? The canister seems to be above the sump but I'm not sure

Remove plug on RH side of trans case and pull screen out. Caution oil needs to be drained or a running shop vacuum hose inserted in hyd filler hole to create a vacuum to limit oil escape. Trans doesn't require draining to change hyd filters.
