I have a 2000 Model John Deere 4300 Sync Shift / Gear Drive Model 4wd with 430 Loader and approx 2000 hours on unit..... I recently developed an issue of getting Hydraulic oil in the motor.... The lift and power steering work fine, but after about 45 mins of use the engine oil is High and the trans/hydraulic oil is low in the sight glass..... Has anyone experienced this? I have not been able to find much info on exactly where the Hyd pump or pumps are. I think it has two pumps stacked, one for power steering and one for lift...... Dealer Teach. says it is probably the rear main engine seal letting the Hydraulic oil get in the engine....... Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Anybody have a copy of the Factory Repair Manual I can borrow?

Thanks in advance!

I have a PDF of the technical manual for your tractor, if wanted, shoot me your email.
I believe you have seal issues in the hydraulic pump on the side of the engine, I don稚 believe I壇 ever talk to that service person again!

I don't know how your hydraulic pump is driven but mine is geared off the crank. When the seal starts to go hydraulic oil ends up in the crankcase overfilling it.

Hydraulic pump seals are blown. Not a difficult job to repair. Pull the pump. Replace the seals. Should fix it.

Thanks for the response Gents!! I have the Tech Manual now and 2 seal kits/parts on order. We are dealing with Hurricane Dorian today.... so i"m not turning any wrenches. The TM1677 does not show allot of detail for removing the Hydraulic pump. Has anyone done this repair/pump removal? Does anyone have a breakdown of pump removal or know of a U-tube video?

I have removed and replaced the seals Kit LVA10948 in the Gear Driven Hydraulic Pump mounted on the left side of engine on My 4300, reinstalled the pump, changed the oil and used the tractor several hours without any issue. I am posting some Pics in Hopes of helping someone else. Thanks Again! TractorByNet Rocks!!

Thanks for the update. It helps us all learn.

Re read Joecdeere's post #3 regarding the techie who told you the engine crank seal was gone.

FYI Joe was a JD mechanic for decades and his advice is one to be taken very seriously when it involves a John Deere.
