I have a john deere 4410 with a 430 quick attach loader, I am having a problem with the curling of the bucket, when I remove my quick attach bucket and try to hook up another attachment, one cylinder will move all the way up and the other cylinder will not move up until the first cylinder is all the way up. Would anyone know if this could be a problem with one of the hydraulic cylinders, or any other ideas? The tractor has about 250 hours. Thanks for any help. Jim

It always works that way. There are always small differences in resistance, flow etc. There is nothing wrong with you tractor. They always equalize when pressure is applied and they are attached. Enjoy

Jerry , Thanks for the reply. I edited my post as I didn't explain it very well, what happens is one cylinder goes all the way up before the second one will even start to go up, they should both be going up together in order to hook up the quick attach bucket.
Thanks Jim

Jackson, I have a 4410/430 that does the same thing. In fact, the difference in the movement between the two cylinders seems to have increased with time. I usually extend the hydraulic pistons completely and then retract them to a point where I still have good visibility for lining them up with the attachment. Mine retract very evenly after being fully extended. Give this trick a try. I hope it works for you.

I had this same problem with my 410 loader, I found a pin had sheared in the rod that goes between the two QA plates.
I will try to attach a picture...It is parts #s 4 and 8.

My 420 loader did the same thing (sheared a pin in the rod between the bucket cylinders). I replaced that and it fix the issue you all are talking about. Exactly like Kenny described above.

Go ahead and hook up one cylinder. Then move your lever to hook up the other. The one that is hooked up first shouldn't move or will move very little. It should work fine that way. When you do get them both hooked up they will work right.

Jerry,
That is not how the Deere Q/A setup is, you do not "hook up cylinders" as they are attached to the Q/A plates. The rod is supposed to tie the two plates together so they both move at the same time. Study the picture I attached in the post above.

Glad to learn about that quick fix of the sheared pin! I'm going to take care of mine today... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Is #8 a tie bar? I missed the Q/A part. Maybe that was what he changed in the first post when he went back to edit.
