Has anyone had trouble with their 400X Loaders coming of during use? My loader seems extremely loose when it is attatched to the tractor, and has actually come off twice while I was using it. I was wondering if there was something I need to adjust on the loader, or if all of the 400X loaders were this way. The loader seems to slip off the frame posts and then slip backwards into the floor board. Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 4520 w/ a 400cx loader and have had to adjust the locking latches twice. Once at 10 hours and once again at 60. It has never popped off yet, but you can see things wiggling around when everything is getting loose and it's time to pull it in the shop and re-torque things.

Don't know if you have adjusted the locking latches before, if not I'd do it. If you have, something must be broken or bent or something with the latches.

When you are talking about the locking latches, I assume you are speaking of the long threaded bolt and set screw on detatching mechanism of the loader. If I adjust those, will it keep the loader from rocking on the frame posts as well as keep it from coming off?

Yep, those are the latches I'm talking about. That should tighten it up, provided you don't have something else wrong with the loader. The steps to re-adjust them are in the manual.

Thanks for the help. I will check the manual to see the correct steps. Will that solve the rattling/knocking problem that the loader pivot points on the frame seem to have?

It should.

Thanks for the help. I adjusted the loader as specified in the manual, and it fixed all the issues that I was having. Thanks again.

Did you ever get the loader situation fixed? Mine pops off of right side and comes up about 8 inches no matter what you do with the locking mechanism. Horrible design .

:Welcome:

It is a great design, as dropping off the FEL and hooking back up is just a "minutes" task without needing to get off the tractor but to connect hyd. hoses.

Can you tell us the history of this FEL and when it was installed? Maybe we can help get it sorted out so you too can enjoy your FEL.
