John deere 455 diesel lawn tractor

Tractor runs for about 10 seconds; glow plug light comes on then shuts down all electrical functions stops. If I wait about three hours electrical function returns. However it runs about 10 seconds glow plug light come on then shuts down again. Help?

Not sure if your model has the infamous thermistor? Just google "John Deere Thermistor" and you will se some of the issues it can cause.

sounds like it could be a bad ground. start from the battery clean all ground connections. with a meter check from battery cable out and see where you lost power when it dies. there's your problem.
