2014 John deere 5085e
New to the site, have done a lot of reading on here the last few months. Been trying to decide on a tractor for the last couple months, finally decided on JD 5085e. Would had love to get the M, but couldn't justify the cost. I also looked real hard at the Kubota M7060. I went with the cab, H260 loader, 3rd function for loader, triple's out the rear, radio, larger tires, power reverser, modulator for power reverser, air ride seat, corner post exhaust and buddy seat. Just wondering for the guys that have them, anything else I should add and what your thoughts are on the tractor. Im little nervous about the tier 4 emmisions, Im a mechenic by trade, and this is nothing new in the automotive world. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. The tractor will be used mostly for maintaining food plots, native grasses and eventually farming 40 acres of the farm myself.

Sounds like you have gotten yourself a pretty well equipped outfit there. You will need something to weigh down the back of the tractor for loader work. Wheel weights and/or loading the back tires will help. I have a heavy box blade on mine, about 1000 lbs. Enjoy your new tractor. Pictures help if you want us to believe you.

Going to have to wait till February for pictures, Thats the date their giving me for delivery. Dealer said might get moved up, didnt know for sure, nice thing is it will be 2014. I have a 6 foot tiller I though I could use for weight, if I have problems will look into loading tires.

Yup, if you use the loader lots of weight in the back is required. For moving anything heavy (dirt, silage bales, etc) you will need to load the tires and add weight.

Calhoun9001, sounds like a sweet purchase. I have the 5093e, and would second the rear weight comment. I have two 94lb weights on each wheel, and a 5x6 bale will make the rear-end bouncy. I've been contemplating fluid, kinda wish I'd done that in the first place. Love my JD, you'll love yours too!

Congrats. Dealer in Indiana here. Just got our 5085e in for stock. Tier 4 doesnt look as bad as what people make it to be. The upgrades over the 5083 out weigh t4 for sure. Cab, controls are awesome. Lighting is great, quit, tractor looks mean. We have it on tractorhouse.com. dealer name is Mutton Power.

Yes is did add the right hand door. I read on here someone saying it comes in hand handy. Do you have it on your 93?

I had them add the right hand door. I have a 5525 cab also - and I would miss not having two opening doors.

I have a 5520, which is an earlier model and I have a couple of rear weights on each side of the back. It keeps mine on the ground and I pick up some pretty heavy stuff with it. That's a great tractor you are getting. My opinion is that loading the rears would be too much weight and you really don't need it.
