JD 5303
I had to replace the float and rockport levers on my JD 5303 as they had seized to the shaft. After replacing, I must have moved the friction plate control arms because my hydraulics are "hunting" all the time regardless of the float or rockport lever settings. Any advise on adjusting the friction plates so that my implements are not "jumping"?

"hunting" at all settings, and not just at the top limit?

Must be an adjustment to make, but without the tech manual for that tractor, don't know what it is.
Hope someone will be along to help you out of this frustrating situation.

I would call the 5303 a little bigger than a lawn & garden tractor. You might consider posting your question in John Deere Owning/Operating - TractorByNet.com

Not sure I understand your question, but here is how to adjust Rockshaft Draft-Sensing Feedback Linkage Adjustment for my 5210. The .pdf has the pictures. Hope that helps.

Rockshaft Draft-Sensing Feedback Linkage Adjustment
To ensure rockshaft draft system allows proper amount of implement control.
PROCEDURE:
1. Remove right-side fender.
2. Move outer control lever fully forward. Make sure there is no load on the rockshaft centerlink. Slowly move the inner lever rearward until the rockshaft arms begin to rise. At this point, check the position of the rear edge of the inner pivot plate (A). It should align parallel (C) with flat surface on rear of friction plate (B). If surfaces of lever and plate align as shown, no adjustment is necessary. If adjustment is necessary, continue with procedure.
3. Loosen rod end lock nut (E) on the draft-sensing rod (D). If lift arms move before plates align, shorten rod using wrenching flats on rod (D). If lift arms move after plates align, lengthen rod.
4. Repeat procedure until adjustment is correct. Make sure lock nut (E) is tightened securely.
NOTE: With rockshaft completely raised and draft control lever fully rearward, system should not go into relief.
5. Install right-side fender

A—Inner Level Pivot Plate
B—Friction Plate
C—Parallel Alignment
D—Draft-Sensing Rod
E—Lock Nut

Thanks for the adjustment tips. I will try them out soon. As I didn't have any problems before I replaced the pivot arms for the levers, I am assuming that I somehow didn't get everything realigned as before, but I didn't make any adjustments to the linkage arms during the repair.
