Okay guys, I have this slightly odd problem
With my jd 5320. It痴 a syncshuttle model and it痴 giving me fits with the shifter. If the tractor is in level ground you can shift it in and out of park just fine and it works perfect. If it痴 setting on a hill and you put it in park it痴 basically impossible to remove from park UNLESS you let the loader down against the ground and pickup on the front of the tractor. If you pick the front of the tractor up a little it値l pop right out of park not problem. So this leads me to believe it may not be the pawl, but honestly I don稚 know and I need your guys input! Thanks in advance

have you tried setting the parking brake before shifting into park? it takes very little load against the park paw to make it hard to shift out, poor, poor design!

Unfortunately it doesn稚 have a parking brake. It just has the p-n-f-r shifter

Hi Pmcferron, just wondering if you figured out what your issue was? I'm having the exact same problem with my JD 5310.

I read somewhere to remove the bottom plate of the gear shift assembly, that there is probably mositure/water in there that needs to be let out and everything lubricated in there. I'm going to give that a shot this weekend if the weather is nice enough. I'm still trying to figure out if I have to take the fender off to get to that bottom plate.

Just wondering if you fixed your problem and how you did it.

Thanks.

I am thinking about something els . Did you change front tires ?
Is the ratio between front and rear tires correct ?

No tire change and ratio is correct. Seems to only do it when the weather is below freezing. I took the fender off an removed the bolts holding the plate at the bottom of the shifter on, but couldn't get the plate off. I'm going to try again when it's warmer, if can find a new gasket for that plate, as I'm sure it will be ruined once I pry or beat that thing off.

There is no gasket. Only sealant is used. That is why it is so tight, the sealant holds pretty tight. Try driving a thin scraper between the bottom cover and housing. It should come loose that way as along as you are sure all bolts are removed.

Thanks for the tip. What do I re-seal it with, just some heavy duty window seal or something? I was going by this diagram I found online, is 32A or 32B not a gasket?

Think #25 is the sealant that is used in place of a gasket.. Likely part # TY15934
