Hi all, I am new here and looking for some info on a John Deere 60 lawn tractor that my husband and I bought at a yard sale today. We paid $20 for it. It looks great and runs good. It is a 1968, type T0910, serial number 015467M. Does anyone have any idea of its actual value, or where I might find such information?

Thanks in advance.

In good running condition, they typically sell for between $300 to $500 on Ebay. The rear wheels alone are worth more than the $20 you spent. First thing to do is change the oil and the air filter. That little 6 HP Tecumseh motor is very hard to get parts for, so take GOOD care of it. I sure wish I could find one for $20!

Sounds like you sure got a great deal!

The smaller old classic lawn tractors from JD, Cub and others are rare and hard to find in good shape, most people tended to throw them away when they wore out, thus the very limited numbers of them left. The JD 60 and 70 I think are neat looking old tractors, and even of you can't get them to mow again are great to use for utility work or parade pullers and such. My local JD dealership has a model 70 mounted on a sign pole as his dealer display!

By contrast the larger models from the 110 and up are much easier to find than 60's or 70's.

We have since bought a new battery for this beauty, and it runs like a champ. After some discussion, we have decided to sell this small tractor and go for something bigger with more horsepower and accessories. Here is the tractor we bought, and have $70 invested in it so far. It also comes with the original snow blade.

FOR SALE!!!

If you were to put this on Ebay or some of the Deere oriented forums on the internet, you should expect a minimum of $300 since it appears to be in very good condition and includes the snow blade.

Wow! 20 bucks!!! My uncle used to have a small engine business and like someone else said, these were "disposable" tractors. Must got junked when they quit.
