Sir, Not tryin to say you don't know what y'alls doin out there but had ya checked tightness before you rode off. I wouldn't go out there judgin poor design since yall hadn't designed it.

Well I must say that poor design is caused by one major thing. COST. I work in a machine shop that produces over a million different parts used in the making of glass bottles so I know a little about design and one of the major player is cost. But our shop will over look it for quality since our company supplies these part to our other side of the business. But I do know if we sold to another company, cost would be a major factor. Engineers make it look great on paper and do a lot better job of design than I but they miss one important factor. LONG TERM USE. They need to get out from behind the desk and pencil and go out and see how there design works. Maybe you should scrap the filter and use an after market one. Good Luck!!

Even the best machines have their faults....for instance, the chinky metal screen on my 5103 side panels. No, I did not design it and I will judge JD on that one...poor design. No other way to put it. They should have used a sturdier metal, something not so pliable.
