I am looking at a new JD-6430 4WD and was wondering if anyone had any valuable information as far as quality, dependability etc, other than just opinion. I am also looking at a massey 5465 4WD any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I dont have a 6430 but I have a 6420 the power is great, nice and strong. Very stable on roads and rough terrain. One of my favorite tractors to drive. Good luck on your purchase. If your getting one. Get tls, panorama doors, michelins wide tires and IVT

My neighbor has a 6420 on his ranch and the only real problem that he's had is with the fuel lift pump. He gone through a bunch of them.

We have several 64xx and they are great ag tractors. I have also had an older 4345 MF as well as 6485 MF which is more like a 7xxx series JD. We have had good service out of the MF's but IMHO there is no comparison in this size tractor, especially with the newer MF. You won't regret buying the Deere.

My neighbor loves his - had it about 6 mos. no issues. I really love the big hydro pump on the back - you can run anything. He's got the buddy seat and it made one heck of a good deer stand from him and his 3yo this year. Gotta keep these kids interested in the land.
When I cross that road it will be a toss up between the 6xxx or 7xxx series.
seems like they charge you a little extra since the 6430 is such a beast in a 95" wheel base. for about the same money you can get a 6cly in a 105" IIRC
wheelbase.

We've got an 08 model 6430 premium cab, and it has gave problems since about 30 hours of use, and it stays having fuel problems or throwing codes on the command center continuously with anything from the transmission over heating to the exhaust gas recirculating temp too hot. So I'd think twice before I bought one. Because we've took more pains with this machine than any on our farm.
