I have a chance to buy a John Deere 7000 conservation 4 row corn planter but, I have a few questions and concerns. The planter is in very nice condition and has no till coulters, fertilizer and insecticide hoppers, as well as the row markers. 1st, would a John Deere 4310 be able to pull this on flat ground? I would like to be able to no till corn. Also it has three hydraulic lines, will they all work in standard remotes or do they take something special? Lastely, what would you pay for the planter? Thanks

Can you pull it? Yes. Effectively, at the correct speed? Doubtful. For the finger pickup to work right, you need to pull at the called for speed (see manual). The hydraulic fittings may be old style JD but probably pioneer like your tractor. Two are for raising and lowering planter, the other for the markers. Do you have a float detent? The planter cylinder needs to float. A two row 7000 would be better suited for your size tractor. A four row wide can be had for around $2000. Four row narrow typically run $3500 and up depending on condition.
