I have an '88 I bought new, now has 2200 hours on it. I have had absolutely NO problems with it that were not a direct result of operator stupidity (bent the tie rod on stumps twice, bashed the hood in using the FEL as a hoist ":^(
The original battery lasted 10 years, NAPA replacement has puked acid all over the battery tray, which required me to strip and repaint.
I use mine HARD, running a Woods 650 backhoe and a 5' Woods bush hog in tough conditions. It's done everything I've ever asked of it, starts in the coldest weather, and sips fuel like a society matron at a teaparty.
It IS a bit narrow and can get tippy if you're careless about getting on sidehills, but I've taken mine into some scary spots and gotten away with it as long as you think about what you're doing.
Change the oil and filter every 100 hours, air and fuel filters at least annually, and it'll last basically forever.
