John deere 950

New here. I have 7 acres here at the house. Call it a homestead, farm, ranchette. Whatever you want. We do a little bit of everything here. Tired of trying to move firewood, snow, and other things with a 4 wheeler. I found a john deere 950 diesel. It comes with a 3 pt dirt scoop. There asking 4,250 for both. Does this sound good? What are some things to look for? I've run quite a few tractors, bobcats, other heavy equipment but not sure what to look for when buying used. Just trying to find something between 25 and 50 hp. Would love a bucket and 4wd but think they are alil over budget.

Had a 950 for years. Great little tractor! Tough as nails. Reason I got rid of it was because parts were becoming hard to find and I needed a bigger tractor. What kind of shape is the tractor in and how many hours? For that kind of money I'd rather have an old Ford 3000 or something along those lines. This is coming from someone who's farmed with John Deere tractors all his life.

Welcome to forums! The John deere 950 is an older unit, but quite good. you can buy it, if you not happy with prices, go to next dealer there could be low price for 950 in your budget.

I just don't know. I was at the john deere dealer today and he quieted me 23k on a 32 horse hydro with a bucket. I'm tired of other peoples who like it. It ain't 4wd. Just how much will I use a bucket I wonder?
