John Deere 955

My father-in-law is looking at purchasing a JD 955 with 1342hrs on it. It has loader, front blower, factory cab, rear blade and 72" MMM. Do you think that $18K is a good deal?

I have been hesitant about this because he could go buy a Kubota B3030HSDC cab tractor with front blower and loader for about $24K or so and use the 36 months 0% interest and have a new tractor with 3yr warranty.

Any thoughts?

That seems steep to me. I am by no means an expert, but hopefully others will chime in. How well the machine has been maintained and serviced would be a pretty big factor. I know some here probably wouldn't think much about a diesel machine with that many hours, if its been properly cared for.

That 955 is a heck of a tractor, but it's at least 10 years old. I'd say 18K is too high by $2000-$3000 especially if this is a private sale.
