John Deere and Yanmar

I was just wondering if there has been any new news on JD keeping the Yanmar engines in their tractors.

It seems I may have found the answer to my own question....According to the website "tractorco.com", John Deere and Yanmar have parted ways. If you want to read it for yourself, go to their website and scroll down to where it says "Yanmar and Mitsubishi" If this is true, is JD going to produce their own Powertec engines for the under 40hp class tractors???

Interesting. Maybe I'm glad I didn't buy a 2305 yet. Be interesting to see what they come out with.

I thought this might happen when Yanmar teamed up with Cub Cadet. All my dealer says is that he hasn't heard anything. Oh yea..hi everyone love the site.

If true, it's too bad. The Yanmars have been great engines, in my experience. I hope it doesn't ruin the quality of the JD compact line.

This separation has been in the works for a number of years. Don't think Yanmar teamed up with Cub until after the separation began. I do wonder how far reaching this separation is. Several JD models use Tuff-Torque transmissions and TT is owned by Yanmar.

Wonder who will be replacing Yanmar as a supplier?

I just got my new 2320 and the S/N plate says the whole tractor is built by Yanmar.

If true . . . it makes more sense that Deere would team up with Cat. This way they would be able to push made in the USA.
