John Deere 5310
This forum was very help in my last post so I am going to try another one. I purchased a John Deere 5310 w/ 540 FEL. The bucket/loader didn't have a bucket level Indicator so I went to the John Deere dealership and asked for one. They parts desk looked for about 15 minutes and finally came back and said that the bucket level jndicator for loader had been doscountinued for quite some time but gave me a print out with parts number. I came home and researched it, there was a replacement part number given which is BW14352. I found a website selling the incidactor and purchased it. The picture given was pretty crumby on the website, and so I didn't know what I was getting but thought I could figure it out. I received it in mail today, and take it out of box and my eyes immediately went crossed. Do any if you know how to mount this hunt? There is 2 large hose clamps I am assuming for lift cylinder mounting, but no other hardware. I included 2 pictures one of the crumby picture on Internet and one of what I received in mail. Again any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Looks similar to the one on my New Holland. The tube mounts to one of the bucket cylinder barrels and the rod mounts to the bucket end of the cylinder rod. The rod should be flush with the top of the tube when the bucket sits flat on the ground.

Looks like the one on my model 430 loader on my 4300. But I don't cut the end flush when bucket is level. Too hard to know when the end is hidden in the tube and how far away it is from getting up flush.

I file a slight depression around the rod at the tube end (when bucket or forks level) and put some white paint in that groove. It works very well for a quick indicator of bucket position.

Can post a pic if interested.

Here is a picture of the bucket level indicator on my Workmaster. The yellow tab located in the middle of the rod is the indicator. Yours should attach in the same manner.

I have attached a picture of how I have mine setup. If you need other pictures let me know. I have included a link to the manual that speaks to the bucket level indicator. 的ndicator (A) is mounted to the outside of the bucket cylinder on 540 Loaders with mechanical self-level. It is mounted to the inside of the bucket cylinder on 520 Loaders and 540 Loaders without mechanical self-level.

I put a put a piece of plastic hose in the bottom and top of the piece the rod goes up and down to keep the paint from coming off the rod.
