My local JD Dealer just had their annual "John Deere Days" event. It's a great way to see the new gear, talk to some reps, eat some free food, and get 15% discounts on parts, filters, oil, toys, clothing, etc. I'm stocked up now for my next set of changes! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do other dealers have these at the same time around the nation - or this something that only certain dealers do?

I've kept posted on whatever my local dealers do for the past three years and none of them has advertised any type of promotion I'm aware of. There are three major JD dealer chains in my area so I would think competition is strong but I never see any specials advertised.

Too bad, because I would really appreciate a discount on parts once in a while.

My dealer is doing the same thing this weekend at one of there dealerships and the other dealership in a few weeks, I wish they had them in the warmer months.

Yep, we do that to at the dealer I work for. We had a small yellow and green card to get your 15% off parts with. One good thing about these events is that I don't have to pack a lunch that day! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Humph! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

If our local JD dealer planned anything, he'd charge us admission and bump everything up by 15%! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My local JD dealer has something like this also. They are a third generation family owned company (58yrs.) and they hold it around the annual date the company started. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nick -

Which dealer in MN do you work for?

And you're right about the free food!

If I am allowed to say Country Side Implements. Great place with a lot of great people! We have an awesome service department in my opinion.

My primary dealer is Northfield Tractor in Northfield, MN. I've also done business with Northwoods in Aitkin. Both have been very good but I bought the tractor originally at Northfield and it's 10 miles from me, hence I do most everything there and the service/sales is great.

It sounds like fun, but I'm not aware of anything like this around my way - but I'll sure be asking about next time I'm in. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I went to a Dere days in NJ several years ago (dealership is gone now) and entered a sweepstakes that corporate Deere was running at the time (dropped my name and address in a box). We sat and watched a movie and drooled on the new stuff, ate some food and went home. I got a letter in the mail months later from Deere Corp. that I had won a prize in the sweepstakes and could pick it up at the dealership. Imagine my surprise when I saw the new tool box with a complete set of 1/2" drive sockets, combination wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers. Must have been over $500 worth of tools. I haven't seen a Deere days advertised in a long time in my area, now north east PA. Thanks for bring back a nice memory! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As far as getting a discount, check on the Deere web site. They have monthly specials that you can print coupons for on stuff like oil and filters and such.

They have Deere Day at my local dealer. They had a radio station doing a live remote, food, give aways for the kids, and test drives. Last year I took my 6 year old daughter because she loves tractors. They were having pedal tractor races. They were time trials set up with 2 at a time in a drag race format. She got on and was timed. After we left we heard on the radio that she had finished second or third place so we went back but to get her prize. She was tickled over a bag full of John Deere green stuff!

I did not know about the coupons on the oil. The JD tool boxes are nice. You got one heck of a deal!
