Hi All,
I've just purchased a used John Deere F915 that wasn't very well taken care of and trying to get it operating again. On the hydraulic overflow tank under the seat, there are 3 lines coming off the tank. Where do they go? The bottom one looks like it goes to the top of the transmission. The one on the left side runs forward to a tee fitting, but there is nothing attached to the front of the tee fitting. Is it supposed to run forward to the fitting on the front left side of the differential (nothing currently attached there). How about the line on the right side of the overflow tank. I can't figure out where it might run to. Thanks for the help.

You are correct. The other one is an overflow/spill line. While you are at it, check the motor mounts and the flex/drive coupling between the engine and transmission. These tend to crack and wear out. Glow plugs may be shot, but the machine is a good one.

I have the Diesel F935 (same plumbing). I'd like to hook up a house alternator to the front or rear PTO just for yucks.

Identified the drive line coupling before I bought it and have the part on hand and will install it before I start using it.
Right now I'm trying to get the tires to hold air, and wanted to get the hydraulics plumbed.

I can't tell where the hydraulic sight gauge is supposed to be mounted as shown in the diagram (i'm missing all those pieces). I assume this is how you are supposed to know when the hydraulics are full.

Does anyone know the cheapest place to get tires for small tractors?

TSC has a good selection of tires-they may have or can order what you need.

As for parts, I suggest registering (for free) at www.jdparts.com so you can look up all the parts breakdowns-it's the same basic system that the dealer uses at the parts counter. There is a quick tutorial linked in my signature if you need help with it.

Already scoured jdparts.com and am using it to figure out what's missing from my F915 when I can.
Ordered shields for the mower belt and bearings and bushing for a mower wheel, etc.

Is there a cheaper place than the dealer to get owners manuals and tech manuals?
