John Deere G transmission.. Anyone Have any experience?

Hi all, I have a 1951 GW John Deere... When I bought it I went to go rake hay with it and as i headed up the driveway it started slipping in 5th gear.. thought it was the clutch but no luck there... I have every gear but 5th and 6th it will slide into gear but not catching... Has anyone ever had this problem. I can post pictures if it helps..

I think 5 and 6 are on the same shaft. The splines on it might be toast or the gears have had the heck beeten out of them and no longer mesh properly.
