John Deere grain drill model identification

Hi!

My name is Agostinho I'm from Portugal and I'm trying to figure out something that I'm hopping that you can help me with!
So I've bought a seed drill that was made in the late 70's mid 80's by a Portuguese company that produced John Deere equipment by their own brand (balers, seed drills, etc). Now my problem is, I know for sure that I have a John Deere machine but I cannot identify the model, can anyone help?

From your explanation of the Portuguese company that they put their name on John Deere equipment, then I suggest you write to the John Deere plant that originally was the VanBrundt maker of seed drills. Deere bought them out.
They may be able to help you identify what you have, if it fits together.

Other than that, you may try to get into the John Deere Parts for their seed drills and brouse through to hopefully make a match.
And as well, a TBN member may just come up with the match you are looking for.. we can have hope that it will happen.

I will try directly with john deere then! One more information that I've got is that this company only worked with john deere until 1984 making the 342T and the 342WS balers so, the seeder would be from the same time frame, after that the company was bought by mitsubishi to build trucks.

Good luck on your search. IIRC grain drills were built in Iowa not Horicon.Wis. Lawn equip,golfing & UTV's were built in Horicon. It's been many yrs since I hauled equipment/tractors from JD factories. I checked & JD small sq balers built in factory other than Ottumwa,Ia share some common parts BUT I think drill in AGOSTINHO's photo will not have parts common with drills built in Iowa.

Grain drill production was moved from Horicon to John Deere Des Moines Works. This allowed Horicon Works to focus solely on consumer products. At this time, Horicon began and continued to manufacture mowers, tillers, snow throwers, and more.

That looks more like an old McCormick or old IH design drill than any older JD

Yes starts to look for me like an IH 510, not exactly the same because I've never saw a 510 with fertilizer dispenser.

Yes beenthere, what is trowing me of in the model is the 2 tube with the fertilizer that I can't find neither in the 510 or in the 5100 IH
